Former Love is Blind Season 2 stars, Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones announced that they are divorcing after a year of marriage. The couple shared the news of their split in August.

What Is “Love is Blind”?

Love is Blind is a Netflix reality show hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lahey. The show has had three semi-successful seasons that have produced many couples.

The show labels itself as a social experiment that involves singles looking for love. Men and women interested in marriage agree to date multiple singles and then agree to marry a specific person without ever having seen the other person. Couples date while in pods that only allow participants to hear one another.

Did Anyone from Love is Blind Season 2 Stay Together?

Iyanna and Jarrette were one of the two couples that did remain married following Season 2 of the show, and only a week following news of their divorce, Nick and Danielle, the other couple, also shared that they have filed for divorce.

However, the success (or lack thereof) of Season 2 does not speak to the success (concerning matching couples) of other seasons. Season 1 produced two marriages and the couples (Lauren and Cameron as well as Amber and Barnett) that are still together. Season 3 is also produced a successful couple: Alexa and Brennon.

More Details About the Split

Reportedly, Iyanna is the party who initially filed for divorce and is represented by Amanda Oliver (a Chicago-based attorney). Jarrette is representing himself in the divorce.

Many fans of the show were surprised the couple decided to go forward with the marriage as there were many red flags throughout their relationship on the show. Not only did Jarrette seemingly flirt with another “pod mate,” Mallory, but he also had a very different lifestyle, personality, and opinions about where he wanted his partner to be in life (that he was very vocal about).

The cited reason for their divorce is irreconcilable differences, and the couple has not shared much about their split. The few statements made by the couple have been (paraphrased):

  • We are simply heading in different directions.
  • We need space to close this chapter of our lives.
  • We are grateful for Netflix, Love Is Blind, and the experience, but the show is hard to watch back.
  • Filming After the Altar played a factor in placing pressure on our relationship and issues.
