eSign Remote Online Notary (RON) Process

Divorce Settlement Agreements

Before Your eSign RON Session

Step 1: Review your agreement. Attorney Cairns will prepare and email your settlement agreement for you to review. You must forward your settlement agreement to your spouse for review. The email will also contain a scheduling link.

NOTE: We will NOT communicate with the defendant beyond providing notary services.

Step 2: Click on your scheduling link. After you and your spouse have reviewed your agreement, you and your spouse must coordinate a mutually convenient time for your eSign RON session. Then click on the scheduling link and schedule your session.

NOTE: You must both sign your settlement agreement during the same session, so you only need to schedule one session.

Step 3: Receive your session link. We will email you and your spouse an eSign RON session link for your chosen date and time.

NOTE: We recommend that you and your spouse each use your individual smartphones.

During Your eSign RON Session

Step 1: Click on your eSign RON session link. On your session date and time, you and your spouse must click on your eSign RON session link.

NOTE: Please be on time for your session. If you will be late or need to reschedule your session, you must email us at least one hour before your session time or a minimum $25 rescheduling fee will apply.

Step 2: Verify Your Identities. At the eSign RON session, you and your spouse must both verify your identities by correctly answering 4 out of 5 simple identity-related questions. (For example, a house number, the name of someone associated with you, the model of a car you owned, a phone number you used to have, etc.) If either of you fail, that party will be given another try. After that, you must both wait 24 hours before trying again, and additional charges will apply. You must both correctly identify your identities during the same session.

Step 3: eSign your documents After you and your spouse verify your identities at your eSign RON session, you will eSign your settlment agreement in the presence of our remote online notary. We will have your settlement agreement ready to sign at your eSign RON session.

After Your eSign RON Session

Sit back and relax!  We will notarize, print, and file your settlement agreement with the court and email you and your spouse you a copy for your records.
